2010 Polo International Club Series, England Vs New Zealand
The England team was led onto the field by the Fulham Brass Band playing Rule Britannia before the traditional display of the Haka was performed by the London Maori Group.
The predominantly New Zealand crowd were whipped into a frenzy by commentators Chris Graham and Richard Seavill as the umpire threw the ball into the line out. The first chukka, though unsettled, went very much in favour of the England side. Eden Ormerod, playing at back for England, consistently sent backhands flying up the field for his team to pick up and the score board showed the effect. The second chukka was better for the visiting side but at half time England still held the lead.
The second half kicked off better for New Zealand, their hard riding style began to pay off and the score line closed. England felt the pressure but spectacular play form Lanto Sheridan resulted in the goals they needed to stay ahead.
In the final chukka Jimmy Wood hassled Ormerod consistently putting in some punishing ride offs but when the final bell rang England had done just enough to emerge victorious.
